Navigating all the different rebates 2020 programs offered by not only the various Government levels but also all the corporate rebates and incentives is complicated and convoluted. Below we aim to try and outline and keep updated all the available rebate or incentive programs available to people.
Energy Savings Rebate program
This program is administered by the Federal Government and offered through many local Canadian companies. The program provides funding to eligible retailers to support point of sale rebates for energy efficiency products in Ontario. Rebates are available up until March 31, 2021.
Eligible product categories
- ENERGY STAR certified washer
- ENERGY STAR certified dryer
- ENERGY STAR certified washer/dryer combo
- ENERGY STAR certified dishwasher
- ENERGY STAR certified tankless condensing water heaters
- ENERGY STAR certified air purifier/room air cleaner
- ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostat
- ENERGY STAR certified ductless mini split indoor unit (air source heat pump)
- ENERGY STAR certified room air conditioners
- ENERGY STAR certified ceiling fans
- ENERGY STAR certified dehumidifiers
- Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) Tier 3 certified refrigerators and refrigerator-freezers
- Electric vehicle home chargers
- Induction stove-tops

The program has a finite funding structure so you may need to search around for a company that still offers the rebates.
2020 Rebates With Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate
Enbridge is offering two bundle offers if you register for your pre-renovation energy assessment until Sep 10th, 2020.
Bundle Offer 1: Receive a $2,150 rebate ($1,600 rebates + $550 in audit cost rebates) for achieving the following upgrades:
- Furnace or boiler (replace your existing furnace unit with AFUE 96% or higher)
- Attic insulation (pro-rated depending on the total ceiling area percentages upgraded
- Achieve Air Sealing target or target + 10%
Bundle Offer 2: Receive a $1,400 rebate ($850 rebates + $550 in audit cost rebates) for making the following upgrades:
- Insulate attic (can be pro-rated based on % completed)
- Achieve Air Sealing target or target + 10%
This offer has now expired unfortunately. I hope something new will be announced soon though.
